The exhibition “THE ART OF COOKING – Italian and Korean Kitchenware” was presented at HANSIK Space E:um in Seoul on November 25th. Invented and curated by Andrea Vecera, it was organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul in collaboration with the Korea Food Promotion Institute.
The exhibition aims to explore the gastronomic culture of Italy and South Korea through objects used for the preparation and tasting of traditional foods.
Since ancient times, humans have more or less consciously experimented with the combination of tools and food, custom building countless instruments to improve people’s lives.
With the advent of industry and industrial design, these tools have spread throughout the world, in some cases remaining within the confines of a single territory, and over time, they have become the common imagery of cultures far removed from one another. This exhibition showcases more or less familiar everyday objects related to food that represent their own culture for their people, and in many cases for the entire world, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and understanding, but not least, finding points of connection.
